How is Photoshop used in the fashion world?

1. One of the steps they use Photoshop for is color correction or I’d say colour manipulation. You can change and manipulate tones, colour, background...
2. The natural blemishs and skin. They do this a lot in removing wrinkles, spots and blesmishes to the skin. Look at the difference on face and shoulder. Some parts of your body may not go with colour or shade of your face, so they manipulate this like you see here…
It can go further in retouching the face to such a level that it can be far fetched, as you’ll see below..
And again, you can see here the blemishes or moles, spots are gone. They airbrush, colour manipulate so it’s all hidden under a layer or layers. Photoshop works in layers and you can add as many layers with different blending options and effects…
3. Another well know technique they use is the Liquify tool which also comes with the tool to make certain parts of the body, face, smaller, larger, thinner, bigger etc..
So imagine with female models, with their waistes, breasts, butts and even face. They might manipulate and even cut certain parts like arm, leg and replace it with someone else’s arm and leg…
Here’s another example..
That is why, you never believe what you see in cover of women’s magazines and fashion magazines, photos you see on web.
A lot of it is manipulated.
On Instagram as well, you’ll see a lot of manipulaton happening with lighting, colour manipulation and Instagram has it’s own filters.
That’s why I am very careful when meeting women who have photos on dating apps and dating websites, and on Instagram.
Many I meet don’t lose anywhere near what their photos are, so I don’t say that I have made a decision to say yes but to first meet.
And at least 80% and more, I don’t meet the women.
Some I even say I like to meet them without makeup. I know what make up does and how it hides and how it can change the appearance of a woman completely.
I even say I’ll dress down too, no problem for us to meet.

You have to be careful on all fronts in this world these days.
What you see, may not be what you really see until it all comes off.
